Dear Friend of Triangle Park,
Ya gotta believe!!! Well the time has arrived. Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. will honor us here in Wynnefield with his presence to conduct the opening ceremony at the official Triangle Park Ribbon Cutting Saturday, June 7, 2014 @ 10am, 5425-5465 rear Upland Way, Philadelphia 19131.
We did it! The Triangle Park Project which was a vacant lot now transformed into a beautiful green space for all to enjoy has come to fruition just in time for Summer 2014. From the very beginning, thanks to State Senator Vincent Hughes, Mayor Michael Nutter gave his all as a number one guide initially as Councilman Nutter and is continually supportive, Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. picked up the reigns and has carried on in grand fashion, and Chief Deputy Commissioner for City Commissioner’s Office, Dennis Lee, then Director of Project NEAT of American Cities Foundation and many many others that have helped along the way.
It is happening, all the hard work and cooperation from elected officials, very cooperative neighbors, extended community and businesses. As the Block Captain, I along with my Co-Block Captain, Sandra Franks, with an idea to remove blight figured out how to get this vacant lot project done with a great deal of effort and at the direction of Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. along with his mighty staff. We have also established a newly formed Friends of Triangle Park Group currently registered with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation to oversee the general interests of Triangle Park. The volunteer Friends of Triangle Park Group is now in the process of obtaining non profit status. For additional information about the big day please call me at the number indicated below or contact Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. at 215.686.3416.
Please honor us with your presence as we would be delighted to have you join us in our “green” achievement. We are planning a full day of activities with food, fun and beverages til about 6pm.
Appreciative, Grateful and Thankful!
